International Youth Summit 2020

OVERVIEW
International Youth Summit 2020 is rescheduled to January 2021 because of Covid 19. This coming January come join us at the International Youth Summit 2021.

What:
This three (3) days event will provide an opportunity for young people from around the globe to come together to discuss, find solutions, share best practices and develop innovative projects on youth empowerment, conflict transformation and Peacebuilding.
This International Youth Summit 2021 is a gathering between 50 to 120 young people from around the world to come together to share their experiences on how they are taking actions in their communities to protect and empower youth in Peacebuilding.

Who can attend:
Youth Advocates, Youth Organizations, representatives from NGOs, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), UN agencies, academia, corporate agencies, and related stakeholders.

When:
15th – 17th Jan 2021 (tentative)

Where:
Bhairahawa, Nepal

Evaluation of Application:
Each application is evaluated according to the following criteria:
Drive and motivation
Awareness and analytical skills
To what extent the applicant has impact on strategic decisions within his/her organization or network
To what extent the applicant’s organization/network is driving change in the field of Youth and Peace building.
The candidate’s possibility to both benefit from and contribute to the program.

*Note: In the selection, the evaluation committee will also consider group composition and will strive to put together participants with greatest possibilities for dynamic exchange and learning, as well as for continued collaboration and networking.

FAQ

The official language of the Summit is English.
    Young people between the age of 18-30 and Observers (limited number of seats are available for those between the age of 30 -45 years old);
    Representatives from Non-Governmental Organizations(NGO), Youth Clubs, Civil Society Organizations, CSOs, institutions of higher learning, corporate bodies; philanthropy organizations, officials of the relevant government ministries or agencies or related stakeholders;
    Proficient in English, able to do presentations in English, is a Must;
    Possess good communication and interpersonal skills;
    Demonstrate strong leadership abilities, committed and passionate in fostering change;
    Capable and willing to share experiences and resources with others in the community and contribute to the follow-up process;
    Willing and being able to participate actively for the whole duration of the event;
    Geographical and gender balance will be respected.

    Application Forms received after this deadline may not be considered.
When your application is received and reviewed, you will receive a Letter of confirmation within 1 working month if you are selected to attend the conference.

    Accommodation: 3 nights stay on twin-sharing basis during the conference from 15th – 17th January 2020
    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Coffee Break are provided during the official International Conference dates. For participants with special dietary requirements, the organizers will make arrangements as much as possible to adjust the meals accordingly.
    Airport transfer: Shuttles will be provided to the official venue from TIA (KTM) Airport arriving on 14th January 2021 ONLY (10.00am, 2.00pm and 6.00pm only) (subject to further changes) Participants from Nepal will have to find their own way to the Official Venue.

    A Digital Certificate of Participation for delegates who have fully attended the conference. Kindly ensure that you register on each day at the conference venue.
Participants are responsible for their own air-travel and travel-related costs. Participants are strongly advised to arrange for their own insurance for individual travel, medical care and personal effects while attending the conference. Participants at the International Youth Summit are not covered for insurance purposes by Peace Campaign Nepal.
We recommend you to check the following websites i.e. https://mofa.gov.np/ (Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nepal) and http://www.nepalimmigration.gov.np/ (Department of Immigration) on visa and immigration rules. We would also advise all participants who need visa to make sure they apply for visa as soon as their participation is accepted. Please also make sure that you comply with immigration requirements for yellow fever certificates. Please ensure that your passport validity is more than six months from the date of your travel.
We will provide approved applicants with a Formal Confirmation Letter to facilitate the application of Entry visas. You can present this official letter to the Embassy of Nepal if you are applying for an entry visa. Please note that the confirmation notice does NOT guarantee the issuance of a visa or admittance to the Country. Visa issuance is entirely contingent upon the Embassy’s and Consulate’s discretion, and admittance upon the Immigration authorities’ (INS) discretion at the point of entry.
We are unable to provide any financial assistance, grants and subsidies assistance. We suggest you to check with local and international organizations in your region for sponsorship. Other delegates have found subsidy and sponsorship through searching the internet, approaching their local NGOs/GOs, businesses, friends, international funding agencies and even family.
The dress code for the International Conference is formal for all sessions. Torn jeans and slippers / flip flop / sandals are not allowed during the International Conference proper.
Yes, you can pay partial registration fee to reserve your seat which is non-refundable. After arriving to conference, You can pay remaining fee. (Only for Foreign Participants)
